After the success of the China Tour 2011, the UK Shaolin Temple is offering another chance to explore the wonders of China on the China Tour 2012. From 30th July 2012 – 14th August 2012 you will explore the history and culture of China and train in the oldest martial arts in the world - Shaolin Kung fu. You will learn the real disciplines of Shaolin kung fu in a world recognized facility – The Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and luxury accommodation. Study Shaolin Kung fu, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, San da, Ch'an Buddhism and Meditation all in one location.
After a week of challenging and rewarding training, tour the majesty of China's rich civilization. See stunning scenery and explore many of the world's most revered treasures. Featuring, the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Terracotta Warriors, Shaolin Temple and Longmen Caves. You also get to study cultural pastimes such as Tea Drinking Culture and Chinese Calligraphy.

Beijing – Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture (July 31st) Arrival. Welcome to Beijing! We will meet at Beijing Capital Airport. From there we will be transferred by couch to the Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture – North Shaolin Temple. Upon arrival you will be shown to your room in the training centre and you will also receive a Beijing International Shaolin Culture uniform. Afterwards, you will have free time to rest and settle in. A spectacular welcome dinner will be held in the evening by the Head of the Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture. Meals: LD |

Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture (August 1st) This is the opportunity to sample training in real Shaolin Kung fu disciplines. Feel connected to the ancient teachings as you train in indoor state-of-the-art facilities and natural outdoor venues. Improve your skills and refine your discipline as you train in an extraordinary setting. The Headmaster will meet everybody in the early morning to discuss the training programme during that week. Afterwards your real Shaolin Kung fu, Tai chi, Qi Gong, San Da, Buddhism and Meditation training will begin with your instructor. Meals: BLD |

Beijing – Luoyang (August 7th) This is the last day of your training programme, the Headmaster of the Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture, Chen Defeng, will check your progress and the skills which you have achieved during your training. You will also receive a certificate to commemorate your training in the Centre of Beijing International Shaolin Culture. Followed up by an exciting celebration meal in the early evening. Afterward we will travel on a luxury sleep coach to Luoyang city. Meals: BLD |

Luoyang (August 8th) Early morning arrival in Luoyang city. You will be transferred to your hotel with time for breakfast and a chance to freshen up before starting a full day's tour of the Longmen Caves. These 1300 caves are adorned with 100,000 statues and images of the Buddha and his disciples, carved during the Northern Wei Dynasty in the 6th Century. This Buddhist site is a true marvel, harmonizing the natural landscape with man-made expression. After a full day's touring, we will enjoy a succulent dinner and an overnight hotel stay in Luoyang city. Meals: BLD |

Xi'an (August 9th) After breakfast, we will travel to Xi'an city by a luxury coach. As you travel, you can watch TV, listen to music and relax in quality comfort. Later that evening will include free time for you to explore the city and perhaps taste the variety of Xi'ans food district. Day 11 will include an overnight stay in a four-star hotel in Xi'an city. Xi'an – Dengfeng City (Zhengzhou) (August 10th) Todays highlights include the Terracotta Warriors, one of the world's most mysterious wonders. We will explore the underground palace of Emperor Qinshihuang, the Archaeological Museum of 6,000 life-size Terracotta Warriors, who were the after-life protectors of the first emperor who united China (221BC-206BC). After we have visited the Terracotta Warriors, we will be transferred by luxury coach to Dengfeng city, which is home to the world famous birth place of martial arts: the Shaolin Temple. Upon arrival in Dengfeng city, we will check into a 4 star hotel for an evening of leisure time. Meals: BLD |

Dengfeng City – Beijing (August 11th) Today we will visit the Shaolin Temple - shrouded in legend and mystery. The most famous temple in China, not only because of its long history, its role in shaping Chinese Buddhism but also for its practice of martial arts. You will learn the unique history of this monastery and its Buddhist practices. You can also see the Shaolin Kung fu performance in the Shaolin Temple. In the evening, we will get an overnight train to Beijing in comfortable soft- sleeper class. Upon arrival we will be transferred to a luxury hotel. Meals: BLD |

Beijing (August 12th) Today includes a stroll through the Tiananmen Square, it is the largest public square in the world. We will explore the incredible Forbidden City, which has the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. You will feel like you have traveled back in time; a truly unmissable experience. After the Forbidden City, we will guide you to Beijing's famous Hutong area and Wangfujing Street where you can enjoy free time to shop or visit other sites. Meals: BLD |

Beijing (August 13th) In the morning we will visit the Great Wall of China. Which is one of only few man-made structures that are visible from space. We will walk the formidable Wall and you will earn the title of “Hero of the Great Wall”. Spanning some 6700 kms across deserts and mountains, the Great Wall will be a demanding but ultimately fulfilling expedition, made all the more breathtaking by the stunning views. On the way back, we will stop at the Olympic Stadium, the 'Birds Nest', for a great photo opportunity. Afterwards, we will travel back to the hotel for our last night in China. Meals: BLD |
